Take blessings! Give generosity!
Why I fell ill?
Pardon me for
being late! I suffered from a little bit severe cold-cough and was not in a
mood to write anything.But
I soon recovered and started thinking ‘Why I fell ill’? The main culprit was
the changing surrounding temperature. I was not the only victim but among many
others in the city who suffered from this. I wondered, are we serious about our
own health? Or even for that matter about our own surroundings and society?
Today’s mankind is using all the resources it gets from the society to fulfill
its needs.
The quote
As rightly said by
Fredrick Lenz in his quote,
‘The rhythm of
life is giving and taking. It is necessary to put things back in the system. To
not do that is to foul our own nest, to use up all the natural resources
greedily’.
Dr. Fredrick was an
American spiritual teacher who dedicated his life in enlightening people by
teaching them meditation and mindfulness.
Our souring needs
Needless to say,
our needs have increased. Also, we are converting our wants into needs. Or
maybe because of the development and evolution of mankind, these wants have
become our needs. Our life-style has changed. What we eat, drink, what we watch
and what we do the entire day, everything is way different than what people
used to do some 30-50 years back.
So, along with
keeping our needs, we should also see the adverse impact of executing our
actions to fulfill those needs. If we are destroying even a small part of our
surrounding then we should repay for it by redesigning it. E.g. if we are
cutting down a set of trees to construct a building then we should plant more
trees surrounding it.
Giving back
To sum up, if we
are taking something from the human society and also the mother nature then we
should return it back. Because, life is a mixture of giving and taking. These
are two sides of a coin called life. Without giving back to the society, we are
not realizing the essence of life. You may give anything back to the society right
from a simple smile, happiness and peace to food, clothing, shelter, knowledge.
Even you can give someone back his/her life by donating our gifted organs. And,
to the mother nature, the least and the simplest thing we can do is to plant trees.
This will revive the existing state of our ecosystem.
Summary
Overall, I wanted
to say is that, to be a successful leader one should not only act as a taker
but also as a giver. I will be back within a couple of weeks. Till then, you
may share your ideas and thoughts on this topic through my email or on my LinkedIn
profile.
