Folding mobile phones?!
When mobiles
were born?
Do you know when mobile was born? In 1984.
Ask your parents or grand parents , you will be surprised to know that they
were carrying this heavy weighing 1kg
Motorola DynaTAC 800x’ with talk time of only 30 mins! Nevertheless, now they have
become small but smart with booking tickets online, shop in for grocery, garments and accessories, dine at a favourite
restaurant, video call the friends and family living
at a long distance.
Can it be folded?
Having said this, not any common man would really think that in the coming
years, even like our clothes, we can fold and pack the mobiles! Yes...you read
it correctly...Folding the mobile?
How
it’s possible?
Indeed
it is!!!! You might have heard Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip...right? What are these? These
are foldable mobiles..Wait a minute....Foldable means like those flip mobiles
for e .g Nokia 2720, Blackberry pearl or LG gentle?? No way....it means the foldable
smart phones....Alas!! Impossible!!!!
But OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) has made it possible. These don’t
need back lit lights because they themselves are light emitting, thus making a
mobile thinner and thinner. Remember those bulky TV sets, first computer at our
home? Yes, they were so bulky because of
a separate Light panel.
How
does it bend?
Whether
it may be any diode or compound or any metal used- Can they bend?? Well, actually
it’s a thin layer of plastic on which they are printed. Plastic displays
are naturally capable of sustaining the required bend radius for a foldable
smartphone. So, the
working is as simple and effective as this!!!
Points to remember :
·
Mobile technology started in 1984 with Motorola DynaTAC
8000x.
·
Its revolution into a
smart phone technology giving us everything in a fingertips.
·
OLED technology used in Foldable phones, making them light
weight.
·
Use of plastic bends in foldable phones to sustain the bend.
Wowww...
And we can see...In the future, the entire world, in that tiny folded
electronic device....This is an incredible achievement, right?
See you
next month...Till then ...Good byeee!!!
